Meet Rull

Meet Rull, our head surf instructor and a true wave enthusiast. He embarked on his surfing journey in 2016 upon relocating to Bali, and his progress has been nothing short of remarkable. Learning from the best Indonesian surfers in Uluwatu, Rull honed his skills and developed a deep passion for sharing the stoke of surfing with others.

Rull’s mission is to instill confidence and safety in the lineup while teaching responsible and respectful surfing practices. He believes in creating an environment where laughter is abundant, and learning is swift. With Rull, it’s all about fun times in the waves.

Collaborating closely with fellow surf instructors, Rull ensures every student at Rookie Surf Experience receives the best guidance and experiences the thrill of surfing Bali’s pristine waters.

First of all, you don’t feel as any other “client”, he really cares for you even if you are just two days there. And he teaches you real surfing. Not just the technic to get a picture on a wave, but how to read the spots, tides, how to choose the right wave, how to share waves with other people and… An of course amazing technic to properly catch waves. How long is a surf lesson?

The duration of our surf lessons is approximately 2 hours. We kindly request that you arrive on time to make the most of your lesson as ocean conditions can change rapidly. These changes are influenced by factors such as shifting tides, winds, and swells. Being punctual ensures you get the best experience possible.

What is included in a typical surf lesson?

In our typical surf lessons:

For Beginner and Intermediate lessons, we provide a surfboard and a long-sleeve rashie.
If you opt for Surf Guiding, your session concludes with a refreshing choice of either a cold beer or a fresh coconut.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel at the last minute, a partial fee of 50% is applicable.
